I would love to have had more TAGS Christmas episodes. I have been rolling over in my mind what I would have wanted in a Christmas episode. Maybe Andy telling The Night Before Christmas story or better yet, reading or telling the Christmas story in Luke 2:1-20 in a way that only Andy could do. In trying to decide which of Andy’s girlfriends would be in this episode, if it was Karen, Thelma Lou’s cousin from Arkansas, she could win a Turkey for their Christmas meal at the Turkey Shoot. Peggy, the nurse wasn’t an option, because most of us nurses have to work on Christmas. Helen would be one of my 2 options, so that they could have a Christmas program at school, with Helen directing her classroom in what their roles would be. Arnold, Johnny Paul and Leon could have been the 3 wise men, with Opie playing Joseph and Mary Scobie playing Mary and Andylina Walsh playing Baby Jesus. And of course, the Darlings would have to come into town to make for a festive celebration. There could be a parade with the Mayberry band leading it and Gomer and Goober would be driving Wally’s service truck in the parade. A nativity scene at the old oak tree, where the towns people at one time were going to cut down for the Hollywood producer. The Mayberry choir would be singing carols along the streets in Mayberry and in order to eliminate Barney from the singing, he would be playing Santa Claus and practicing his HO HO HO. I haven’t actually got a story line, but y’all are so good at this, please help me pull this story together. Hope y’all have a Blessed Christmas Nita Kuhns Summertown, Tn
