Every year at the elementary school where I teach music, we celebrate Right to Read Week. This year's theme is Dive Into Reading, and I was asked to write a song for the kids to sing at our Kickoff Assembly. The first day is "fishing" day, and everyone wears fishing gear. Well, as soon as I heard about the theme, the TAGS theme song popped into my head! I rewrote the words, and we have a song! When I taught it, I was surprised and pleased to find that a LOT of the kids recognized the tune, and a lot of them and their parents are fans of TAGS! It really made my day. Long live TAGS!!!!
