This morning, while I was watching "The Beautiful Blonde From Bashful Bend" on Fox Movies, I spotted a couple of TAGS references. Betty Grable played this school marm, and one of her students was Bert Miller (Sterling Holloway). Now get this, at the time this movie was made (1949), Mr. Holloway was 44 years old. The teacher Ms. Grable was only 33 at the time. I have heard of kids failing grades, but that is a little ridiculous. Later Betty Grable and Rudy Vallee go to a church, and he plays the organ for her while she sings "In The Gloaming" straight thru. Not as good a job as the Mayberry Quartet, but passable.
