This morning on Perry Mason on MeTV, guess who the killer was, as revealed by Perry Mason. None other than old Naylor the chicken thrower. I guess he got his start on the road to crime by throwing chickens at his wife. Oh what a tangled web we weave, etc, etc. Speaking of the posting yesterday about the Dragnet Christmas, that episode has always bothered me. My papa gave me a .22 for a present, and as far as I know I never tried to kill someone else with the rifle. Some people think the only use for a rifle is to take innocent life, but most country folks know that a rifle has lots of other uses. Shows like this are written by people who grew up in the city and never ventured out into the country.
Orville Hendricks - Mount Pilot Butter and Egg Man Sometime back I found a DVD with some old Christmas shows...Red Skelton, Jack Benny, Dragnet...and one of the dragnet shows was "A 22 Rifle for Christmas." 2 boys had gone missing. One of the boys was going to get a rifle for Christmas but he found it and took it out in the yard to play with it, with his best friend. Joe Friday was on the case, and they found blood in the back yard along with a casing. The lab guy took a sample of the blood and found out it was human, type O which is what both boys had. The lab Technician was Ray Pinker, played by Olan Soule. The story ended sadly, deemed accidental. Not everyone has a Merry Christmas, so help those in need and you'll feel better than doing so many presents for "me, my and mine." Thanks and Merry Christmas one and all!!! _______________________________________________ WBMUTBB mailing list [email protected] http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
