Well Andy, we still don't want to hear each other. I never said I like Websphere. Yes,
in my opinion it's most complete, most cohesive and most advanced among "big ones"
implementation of J2EE. But it's very, very expensive, unnecessarily complicated on
one side and behind in an implementation of the most contemporary technologies
(although far ahead of Sun or BEA). My site, you had a chance to visit is also based
on the JAVA technology, but it's not so called J2EE complained. And I am happy with
that, I had a single voice until Gartner joined me in the criticizing unnecessary
usage of EJBs and required container. I believe in the vast majority cases combination
of JSP, servlets, and Java beans are more than enough. So, my site has exactly that
JSP, XSP, servlets, Java beans, XML, Struts, etc., but no EJBs or PHP, a little Perl
and CSS. And it has better technology than Websphere and much, much, much cheaper. In
some instances, it's free. And it's based on the Open Source.
It has built-in (you gave me the opening for shameless promotion),
1. best servlet/JSP container - Application Server
2. best Web Server
3. best MVC (model-view-controller) implementation
4. best XML-based Publishing Framework
5. best search engine
6. best Portal Server based on advanced portlet API
7. best Web Services Development Environment (SOAP-UDDI-WSDL)
8. Voice enabled Web Browser support with TTS (text-to-speech) processing engine and
VoiceXML support
9. WAP enabled portal solution
10. best JAVA build tool
11. best JAVA test framework
12. best and fastest XML parser and more...

Here, I finished too.
Peter.
