This just makes no sense at all. I can't be the only web designer
in the world that keeps their connections open when working, can I?
Does everyone else open the connection, upload, shut down, check
pages, fix pages, open the connection, upload, shut down, check
pages, fix pages, open the connection ..... etc ??????????? Or does
everyone just put up with having to reconnect every 5 minutes? I'm
dead serious here, I'd really like to know how people handle this,
maybe I'm missing something that works better than what I do.

How do they expect people to work when the darn thing is shutting
down every 5 minutes? That's hardly enough time to upload a few
files and check the pages in a couple browsers.

I would say it takes
maybe 5-10 seconds to reconnect each time, but you multiply that
by say 50 times in about 8 hours and it gets not only time consuming
but FRUSTRATING AT ALL GET-OUT!!!

I have cable modem to help
me save time, this slow crap is working against my cable modem speed
and I may as well use a dialup then, where a ping will work!

I should think a more
reasonable time would be minimum of 20 minutes and an hour would
be even better.

There are firewalls and antivirus programs out there
for protection. No, they're not foolproof, I understand, but .. oh what's
the use? I'm sick to death of the whole thing. Apparently I'm the only
person in the world who this bothers and who doesn't understand
why one is so limited in this fashion, otherwise enough complaints
would have been given to these server people and they'd do something
to fix this to a more reasonable time frame.

Thanks to all who tried to help or give input :)

Deb
