The real media format is the easiest to stream, even if you don't have a streaming server installed. You can use a *.smil file for handling the different bit rates that a user might connect at. If you are streaming windows media though, you will have to divy up some cash to get a windows media server and the windows media encoder, because they don't offer a free version like Real Media (don't quote me on this). So which format are you planning on using?
