Rudy: jim, you did not specify what type of site check you wanted -- look & feel, usability, cross-browser robustness, quality of code, appropriateness to target audience, adherence to w3 standards...
Me: Rudy, you have been around on this list long enough to know that nobody, and I mean nobody, specifies what they want checked. We just send a link and a request. Why the pickiness? Rudy: first (and biggest) thing i noticed was that you have text-as-image as your navigation, with an image map (Map2) to boot (okay, maybe financial advisors are all rich, can afford the latest browsers, and aren't clever enough to turn images off, but i would use text links and css rollovers for navigation) Me: How many people turn off images in their browsers? Although logic says you reach your biggest audience with text menus, most surfers do not surf blind like this. By the way, the latest versions of Internet Explorer and Netscape are extremely affordable...they are both free! Rudy: ... and on the internal pages, you switch to flash for your navigation -- holy incompatible, batman Me: Sorry, Robin, but you are believing a lie of the Joker. As of 4 December 2002, 491,880,924 web surfers are flash compatible. At last count (September 2002) there were 485 million web users and the compatibility rate was 97.8%. Flash is now an option completely attuned to current trends.
