Thanks Bob.  I didn't think of the EOLA thing and how it would effect 
Java.  That's a good point.

I found some JavaScript code for a "rudimentary" slideshow that will work 
for my needs.  My only problem now is that the FileSystem object in ASP is 
kinda slow when getting a list of files from a folder on the server.

MS does not and cannot support Java as it is now a separate program so if a
user was to download java from sun, then the applet would work in any
browser..well almost
because of EOLA it is now not available as a plugin
 Sp you might make sure you have the correct code or IE will show a popup
inbstead of displaying th applet
If you need a slide show script I can send you one of mine
