What Stephen says is true, I have IIS installed on my WinXP Pro which I use for website pages, but I don't use Dreamweaver to upload or do any live editing. I use my ftp program for that. I also have the ASP.NET capability and the Microsoft .NET framework, but I am using regular ASP (if you can call it that) because it's easier to learn. I have a SAMS learn ASP in 24 hours which is very easy to follow.

Hi Janet, is the site classic "asp" or "asp.net" I would be sure it's
"asp" In this case you can start to learn asp.net from the books you
have purchased but the code will not work on a non dot net server.
Dot net is very nice but a big steep up from classic "asp" due to all the thousands of classes you can now use in code and it's now a proper OOP language that you can write windows apps and web pages using very similar code. Also you can write dot net code in different languages VB C++ C# J# with classic asp you could only use VB.
I use note pad or Home/Site to write asp but have found the need to use visual studio to write dot.net as the inteli sense is a must have when you have so many classes methods to remember!
This is just my thoughts and as I still have a long long way to go in dot.net.
