You might be able to extract uncorrupted versions of those files from your installation disk using system file checker. I don't know which versions of windows had it, but search for sfc.exe What I usually do though is obtain a clean copy and put it in an easily accessible folder, then write a bat file to do the transferring from DOS during a restart.
