Yes If you have a corrupt BIOS and your computer is "modern" (less than 5 years old) you should be able to simply flash the BIOS to the latest version from the manufacturer. Last time I had computer with a BIOS that couldn't be flashed was 1992-1994.
I've never heard of a BIOS virus being the cause of a LAN not working. Boot sector virus maybe but there is usually a much less drastic cure for that. Including replacing the MBR. Cheryl D.
