I'll go completely against the grain here. Encode to Windows Media Audio 9 and QuickTime AAC at both 32k mono and 128k stereo. Give your listeners a choice, such as:
Windows Media 56k DSL QuickTime 56k DSL
Have those links pop up a page with the appropriate embedded player and a graphic of the sermon, even a flash montage.
I know, you're just starting out. You can get the Windows Media encoder free from Microsoft (excuse me if I don't type the link, I'm on Pine here!). You can encode to AAC using QT Pro for $29.95.
After you have the encoded files, Google "Object Embed tags Windows Media" and "Object Embed tags QuickTime." Put the files on a Web Server and point to them using http in the Object/Embed tags.
Sorry. Still really complicated, but this will get the best results.
