H really comes down to personal preference. I have both platforms and for
me the Mac will never be my primary work platform. From this power user's
perspective unless you want to get into command line programming OS X is too
limiting and the documentation is poor.

Plus, I love my tablet and will not have another system without the tablet
extensions. FWIW, I know one PHP developer who switched to OS X and loves
it. While a long time Mac person is lusting often my tablet (1 let her try
mine and now she's putting one into her budget for next gear.)

if Yom last Mac experience was pre 0S X see if you can rent or borrow one
before buying or of least buy someplace with a good return policy. The
interface is very different. My Mac is less reliable than my PCs.

At the risk of wresting King OT's title away from him, here's an off topic
question:

I am at a point where most of my graphics software is old and I'm about to
do a major upgrade of my Macromedia and Adobe products (pray for my
wallet!). All my old, outdated software is PC, but I have been thinking
about switching over to a Mac. Since I'm about to do an overhaul of all my
software, if I'm going to switch OS, now is the perfect time to do it.

I had a Mac laptop about 4 years ago and I loved it for its dependability.
I want that same dependability, reliability and processing speed for my work
computer. Should I switch to Mac or should I stay faithful to PCs? I know
I'm about to start a serious war, but I would like to hear from the Mac
Faithful (and you opinionated PCers) about which you would recommend.

I really want a tablet bad, but there is no Mac version....yet!
