Then I would focus on the resume.  Ensure that you modify each copy of
the resume to ensure that it "answers the mail" in regard to what the
job requirements and qualifications are.  Also, make sure that the cover
letter directly answers what is put out by the job listing and use
upbeat action-oriented phraseology to grab the readers' attention.
Again, liberal use of buzzwords to highlight your experience... Your
people skills... Your flexibility.

Don't discuss salary desires or anything like that at this stage!

Of course, there are male image consultants -- and I know that standards
in the U.K. are different than they are on this side of the pond.
Google may provide some resources on the cheap.
