The guy told me that there was a company that they were looking in to
that charges $3500 up front, $1000 per month and the $3500 is refundable
if they don't get results in 6 months, but that is still $6000 for nothing.

Would they install a set of windows in your hose for free and then
accept payment on results - e.g. so long as they kept the heat in? I
doubt it!
Any business that needs to ask someone to work for free is probably in
trouble in my book - they may look busy but that doesn't mean they are
making money! If they were they'd not worry about paying for what they
need!
