Using these instructions above it *seems* like I made some progress. I can now see the Desktop *icon* in the Network Tasks which I never could see before. But when I click it/double click it I get an error message that says:
______________________

\\Desktop is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. The network path was not found.

Both computers are set up as Admin, there is only one user on each one and both are set as Administrator.

A ping of the laptop: ping Desktop says it isn't found. Using the "Search for Computers" command it also finds the desktop.

Now ... more progress (but I had to do it all using the manual labor way - nothing is working automatically for me and both computers are WinXP Home Edition) ... I was able to share a folder! But I can't get the printer sharing to work. The printer software/drivers are installed on both computers and both are set up as shared. But even doing it manually (Add a Network Place) it keeps telling me that "The folder you entered does not appear to be valid. Please choose another." So, it's working but it's not kind of thing - I have one folder shared but no printer sharing. From the examples they give it appears that I only need two segments for the name and I'm using \\LAPTOP\CanonMP5 which is following their "syntax" examples (syntax for lack of better word?). Any ideas?
