Javascript should only trigger an active x warning when previewing locally.
Two fixes - 1 add localhost to your trusted sites if you are using a local
server or 2 - under internet options, advance tab remove the checkbox that
prevents local content from running in IE.

From: Portman I put a .js file on a page that is supposed to display random quotes each time the page is refreshed. If someone has js disabled, they will not see anything. Also, IE keeps giving warnings about active content, etc. - is there any way to avert these two problems? I realize that there is no way to change the settings on a user's IE, but maybe a way to replace the .js file with something else?

cted with.
