Hi Deb,

It being Sunday I might be your best bet...

My Dell with Xp Home came with wretched McAfee, which I have never got on with [nor.... but i won't bore you ;-)]. As I recall I disabled McAfee [with its 'six month free - a lifetime of cost'], and left it sitting in the machine gnashing its teeth.

On the other hand I am not sure why you can't use the uninstall wizard, it should take out all that important stuff - leaving just enough in the registry to keep nagging ;-). The wizard should uninstall itself after its done the Macbeth bit!

And I think I installed both Zone Alarm and AVG before I even disabled McA, switching it off every time it raised its big business deal head.

Hi Joseph,

It won't even let me install my Norton System Works w/o throwing me a warning to uninstall the McAfee first and I'm not even going to use the Norton AV. I just use some of the tools in the suite. It's not an uninstall wizard in the program list or anything it's actually listed in the Control Panel Add/Remove programs as "uninstall wizard" so I'm afraid what I'd be doing is uninstalling the uninstall feature but I can't find an uninstall w/in the program. Every time I open it up to look it wants me to set it up.
