For what you seem to be asking for, I prefer a good book or two. Here are a
few suggestions. A book for Unix users:

Learning the UNIX Operating System, 4th Edition. Jerry Peek, Grace
        Todino & John Strang. O'Reilly & Associates. 1997.

If you want a book for a system's administrator try either of:

Unix System Administration Handbook. Evi Nemeth, Garth Snyder,
Scott Seebass, Trent R. Hein. Prentice Hall. 1995. (expensive)

Essential System Administration: Help for Unix System Administrators,
        2nd Edition. AEleen Frisch. O'Reilly & Associates. 1996.

The first is a little simpler but costs more. In your position, if I was
interested in getting a book, I would find a bookstore with a good selection of
technical books and thumb trrough these (as well as others) to see what seems to
fit my needs.
