I've never found a permanent fix for this. But if you'll look at the top of
your BBEdit page, there's a row of little icons. The third or fourth from
the left will allow you to quickly switch to word wrap mode.

Weird. I just tried that and it worked fine. See: testing<br>
I'm using version 4.5, but I'm not sure if it's the Pro version--the
bookcover just says BBEdit.

You're right, it's screwy. I just ignore most of this crap. But it's pretty
good at finding broken table tags and stuff like that that can really mess
up a page.

In spite of its problems, I still like it. It just has a lighter, more
graceful feel to it than anything else I've used. I never feel like I'm
having to work around it. Having just spent the evening getting the hang of
Claris Homepage makes me appreciate BBEdit even more.

BTW, be really careful of the search and replace function until you're
really confident with it. Be sure to save a backup copy of your file (or
files) before using it. It's great but has it's limitations: best with
short words or phrases and especially great with multiple file search and
replace. "Find" alone is really great when you're trying to find a
specific item somewhere in the middle of a long, complex page.
