Position: Web Graphics Designer
Location: Santa Clara
DESCRIPTION: Work closely with Web Marketing Manager to create and maintain
microsites, web promotions, and look and feel on corporate site. Your
design sensitivity is very high. Web design specifically. You will have the
opportunity to work in a very relaxed, but fast-paced environment. We are
building the Design capability within our Web Group and are looking for
this key person to help design, produce and maintain the corporate website
and extranets.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* You are fluent with HTML (tables, frames) and able to speed through pages
quickly and with minimal errors.
* You owned BBEdit before FrontPage, and Photoshop is your home.
* You're always thinking HTML as much as Photoshop.
* Preferably you've worked with some JavaScript and/or Perl.
* Maybe you can do multimedia (Shockwave/Flash), but you definitely know
your way around FreeHand and/or Illustrator.
* You can design templates and template-based sites.
* You have experience working within a corporate environment.
* You understand the differences between browser versions and how they
affect design.
* You're creative and passionate about the Web.
* You're team-oriented.
* You're motivated to build a better site.
* You're easy and flexible, but able to rationalize/explain methods for
design.
* You love to crank out work and are open to staying after hours when
necessary.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Production of navigation scheme and labeling system.
* Enhancing the brand identity and functionality of the site through
excellent HTML and graphic design.
* Creating typographical design solutions with styles, formatting and layout
standards for the entire site.
* Coordinating with the Web Team to adhere to Web site style guidelines.
* Producing special-use projects such as PowerPoint template designs,
conference/seminar/trade show events, T-shirt designs, etc.
REQUIREMENTS:
* 2-4 years web design.
* Print design experience a plus.
* Have played a key role in the design of at least one large site.
* Education: Degree in Graphic Arts preferred.
