Isn't it some kind of orange and red cube game? Just kidding...I believe it
means heading or title, but can also mean something like a drop cap. I
think they used to be written in red, but I'm not sure if there was a
reason for the redness or not. (Probably something ordinary, like a black
ink shortage, rather than something deeply meaningful behind the red ink
color.)
BTW, there is a "rubric.com" but no "rubrics.com" if any of you are still
looking for a good domain name....
