franko, I spent a few hours yesterday searching the web for Rhapsody info.
I found a lot, but interestingly, none of it was recent. In fact, the most
recent article I found was dated Jan. 98, most of the stuff written about
Rhapsody was mid-year 97. Now, I realise that the developer release was out
last year, but I was hoping for some more current news.
As I've mentioned to a few other people on this list, I'm seriously
considering buying a G3 later this year, especially if it will run my
Windoze apps reasonably fast. I realize that the Mac OS8 won't do this
without either a software emulator (which apparently is painfully slow) or
another expensive piece of hardware inside (don't want to go that route).
If Rhapsody really will run Win apps well, that would be tremendous. (Note:
for those wondering why I want to run Win apps on a Mac, it's purely a
matter of economics - I can't afford to buy all new hardware *and* new
software at the same time!)
But when is Rhapsody actually going to be available? The year-old articles
I'm finding about it say "mid-1998". Well, we're almost there and it seems
there is no recent news. What do you hear?
