Not windows 95, the ISP. The checkbox will stay grey untill th first time
you connect to the internet, then you can save the passwd.

Select the items, and do a shift+delete they wil gret rid of them. Any
warnings that come up.. just keep telling them to delete and it will (they
are only shortcuts).
