Hee.. my place got zapped by lightning the other day and scrambled poor 
Win95's meager brains when the power went out in mid-defrag; among 
other things that I had to reset was the date.

And well... I have a rather vague grasp of time at the best of times, and 
when I went to reset the system clock I realized I had only the roughest 
idea what time of the month it was.  I knew it was a Tuesday, but was 
that the 14th or the 21st?  I picked the latter, and I guess I was wrong.  
Sigh :)

Yep... when I was in j-school and later a magazine writer, we called that 
the "hook": a catchy, focussing sentence or two that introduced the piece 
and set its general tone and direction.
