Ah yes, marital names in the 90s, an often complex issue :) Daphne and I
were chatting about that the other day, pondering just how many last
names will be affiliated with our extended family once we're married...
goodness.
I am an Eades, of course, as are my daughters; their mother was a
Gallagher originally, was Liz Eades for fifteen years, but remarried recently
and so is now Liz Brown.
Daphne is currently a Stevens, but is changing her name back to Lane.
Her kids will remain Stevens's, of course. So when referring to our
collective extended family, it'll be the Eades-Lane-Stevens-Brown-
Gallagher clan, I suppose :)
Liz and I were good friends with a couple in university who got married
about the same time we did back in '83. They decided to give their kids
their hyphenated last names, which was unfortunate: you try saying
"Plunkett-Schlieshmann" five times fast. Or one time slowly for that
matter :)
"Heathershaw-Hart" however; works nicely, alliterative and all that :)
