Agreed, as well. I _am_ wondering if someone/system is already archiving the
list, though. I came across a "list archiving" site some time in the past,
but can't find an url for it. It had numerous lists archived for searching.
All someone would need to do to archive the list is subscribe and funnel the
list into an archive, so I'd be surprised if it is *not* being done.

Yes, that's more what I had in mind when I broached the subject (along with
a curiosity about whether an archive was already underway, and if so,
where). Maybe a keyword search that leads to a list of threads, sans the
author email address/sig line or something.

I dunno. I'm just thinking it would be nice if someone could go to one place
and type in "formmail" and search previous posts. If the idea dies on the
vine, so be it.

Nonetheless, while this is a list that can be subscribed to by John Q
Public, we all are surely aware that whatever we say can be archived for
posterity and for public viewing. I guess our participation level hinges on
how willing we are to say what's on our mind and how willing we are to have
that available to anyone searching for it.

Alternative? Private WC list (with the hope that some sneaky subscriber
doesn't start a new archive).
