Hello,
I created an email account and subscribed it to the list:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
every email is then saved to a file. I planned on inserting it
directly into msql but that would not work. So I saved it to a file
with the intention of doing a batch upload to the database every
night.
Right now I am saving the following to separate fields:
from,subject,date,to,reply_to,body
I am using "From: " which is what it seems.
Anyhow, I would like to solicit any sort of comments at all.
The data is stored in a password protected directory here:
http://www.mrbillgates.com/data/
username: webcon
password: web4me2
You will find the following files:
bugmail.txt - the perl script to extract data from email
webcon_headers.data - headers I get from the emails
webcon.data.gz - older version of webcon.txt
webcon.txt - stores the following fields:
from,subject,date,to,reply_to,body
I am restricting the size of the fields.
There is a lot of regular expressions I could/should be running to
reduce the clutter.
Just thought I would let you all know. This may or may not go
anywhere. Final word would rest with Al.
Peter
