I would certainly like to know.

It works like a charm for me.  Granted, I do not use the advanced, 
automated features.  All my sites are on unix servers. I download the 
logs and then just use WebTrends to do the analysis.

Just recently I doubted what it was telling me.

I did a check for just a one-day period.

I then wrote a perl script to extract that same day from the log file 
(which was a respectable 40 meg for 7 days).

It checked out.  

I haven't found anything wrong with WebTrends even though I have been 
suspicious but that's when I would use perl or another analyzer to 
compare against.

BTW, a corporate webmaster asked me what version of WebTrends I was 
using.  Another company he deals with did not know how to configure 
their logs. I can imagine someone trying to tweak WebTrends to get 
the referrals and keywords etc. when their log file does not contain 
those values.
