Glad you mentioned that. Without wishing to sound snarky about it, allow
me to observe that this list, like the net itself, is an international medium.
For members like myself (from Canada), or from Australia, Belgium, Italy,
England and the many other nations represented here, Bill Clinton's sexual
practices and political fortunes, while certainly titillating, are foreign news
from a foreign country. So I don't really see how detailed debates about
domestic political aspects of the situation really have any place on an
international list about Web consulting.
Certainly the net-specific component of the case -- the posting on the
Web of Mr. Starr's report -- is of relevance and interest to international
list members, but beyond that, I do hope that off-topic debates about Bill
Clinton's future do not bog down the list in the days ahead.
Otherwise I may have to retaliate with looonnngg postings about the
problems of Newfoundland cod fishermen, Quebec separatists, or other
such purely "Canadian eh?" news topics :)
