All depends on how you ask the questions... Old trick. I once took a
poll on whether to legalize drugs. About half way through the poll, I saw
that it was gently leading one by the nose. Written by a psychology
student, only a cast iron conservative would answer the final questions so
as Not to support repeal of all drug laws. I skipped to the end, and
retained my original point of view. When we spoke, she said of course, it
was designed to persuade; all was fair in convincing others. Failed to
convince me!
ALWAYS ask who sponsored the poll!!! ALWAYS!!!

This is not the appropriate place to debate the issues. But as you
stated what you did, I will state that a friend and I had a rather lengthy
discussion, and we don't see how Clinton can survive charges of
obstruction of justice.

Libel and slander laws remain intact... and will remain intact for the
foreseeable future.

As, if untrue, will be those who claim otherwise, whether in print,
on the air, or on the web.

An old argument... Who will restrain those with printing presses and
typewriters. My god, if we don't register all typewriters, it will be
total chaos out there!
That, my friend, is why we have libel and slander laws. This is not
Albania, nor Iraq. We are, by and large, a responsible people who have
respect for the truth, and laws for dealing with those who do not. Even
the Rancid Limburger speaks truth, odiously as it may be spoken. (Gads
how I hate that pompous bombastic guy! Yet he speaketh not with a forked
tongue. Not as far as I've seen, as little as I've seen of him! He
separates facts from opinion. It is more his selection of topics and
delivery that I have trouble with.)

I doubt that would stand up in court. Nice try, done more for show.
The real questions are remarkably similar to those in the Nixon
Watergate incident: perjury, obstruction of justice, and conspiracy to
obstruct justice. Public trust and moral leadership are but secondary
issues. Job ratings are unimportant. The outcome will be the same as
Nixon. It can not be otherwise if we are to remain a nation of laws.
When Starr saw tampering by Monica on behalf of Clinton, Janet Reno,
a member of his own party, PUSHED to expand the inquiry. Yes Reno herself!
It was not just Starr. Monica turned states evidence. This is about law,
not politics; about obstruction of justice, nor sex. Through all this, he
has publicly shown contempt for the laws he has sworn to uphold.
Even more,in his hubris, he has shown total disregard for the trust
of those of his staff, his cabinet, and congress, all of whom he persuaded
to promulgate lies on his behalf. Many of his cabinet and staff have
already begun to show their disdain for him, and Congress is beginning to
follow. How can these people work in any effective manner with a man who
has so fundamentally Violated their confidence and sense of self respect,
as to force them to lie in public? There is NO EFFECTIVE leadership TEAM at
the helm of this nation!
Thus for reasons of law, leadership, and personal disdain for what he
has put them through; Congress will not, and CAN NOT allow him to remain.
Clinton will either be impeached, or resign by Easter.
