I hate anaserve. I once did a rather complicated "script" for a
customer on anaserve. He did not have telnet access. I had to take
the default values, test the scripts on another server and then move
them over. There were about 14 scripts in all. anaserve would not
allow them to run before they checked them. It took them a week
before they made all the scripts executable. What nightmare.
If they still restrict telnet and disallow user's ability to chmod
files then .... why in the world would you use them when you can get
so much more for so little more.
I wonder if they have changed. I see their big ad in some webzines so
I know they are still around.
