I could use a hand with something here ...
I have implemented a fill-in-the-blanks form at
www.auctionweb.com/submit.htm, for auctioneers to use to submit their
upcoming auctions for listing on NETIS AuctionWeb.
What I would like to do is maintain a database of auctioneers' names,
addresses, phone numbers, etc. (I'm already doing that, actually). Then
when an auctioneer goes to fill in the form, I'd like him to be able to
fill in only his e-mail address or his NAA membership ID number, then
punch a button that says maybe something like "Fill in the rest", and have
the rest of the top part of the form (name, address, phone number, etc.)
fill in automatically from information in our auctioneers' database.
I can easily write a C program that takes the NAA membership ID or the
e-mail address and extracts the rest of the information from the database.
What I don't know how to do is make the information, which was extracted
from the database, magically show up on the form so that all the
auctioneer has to do is fill in the stuff that's not in the database (e.g.
information on specific auctions).
If there is a way to do it that can be done in C and doesn't involve perl
or java, that would be a big help, because I'm not familiar with the
latter two languages just yet and I'd like to find a way to implement this
fairly quickly.
