Petition against CPU locking
A few months ago, Intel decided that it would clock-limit its CPUs (ie. its
CPUs would not go beyond its rated multiplier). Then, with the debut of the
Celeron, they decided to completely lock the CPU multiplier. Now, they're
about to limit the CPU bus in their upcoming Celeron's, as well as in any
upcoming chip. And we have recently learned, through an article on ZDNet,
that AMD is considering doing the same thing.
