Chad, I experience the same problems with NS to this day. I believe it has
to do with my video driver, as I have not seen the "feature" show up in any
other discussions. I have also figured out that when form elements (not just
text fields, but all form elements) fail to redraw in NS 3 and 4 it is due
to the fact that I have set the bgcolor attribute in the table cell that
holds the form elements. A scroll-down, scroll-up, so that the form elements
are temporarily hidden, then forced to redraw usually is all I need to do to
see the form elements again. I have wondered, when placing my handy little
bgcolor's, whether I am damaging the experience for many other NS 3,4 users.
You are the first I've heard from who has had a similar problem. I'd be
curious to know if there are others out there with the same problem.
Also, Chad, what vid card/chip, driver and OS are you using? My setup is NT
4, Stealth 64 DRAM PCI (S3 764 chip) and the S3 driver that comes with NT.
