Hello,

I may have brought this up before but I though I would ask again.

Many people have mentioned that developing on an intranet is easier
because you know what browser you are designing for. In fact I know
someone who is going to push this in a bid for an intranet. I have
argued with him many times on this and he keeps arguing that on an
inranet you can design for the browser.

I argue that if you take this approach then you should choose IE
explorer because it offers many more options than any other browser.
He does not refute that but his choice is Netscape. I don't think
Netscape offers more options than IE. Remember the point has nothing
to do with any common standards.

I argue that you should neither assume a browser nor enforce a
browser on an intranet. I argue that you design for open standards.

I would like to know what others think about this.

Peter
