hrmmmphhhh. at least my machines boot off a CD-Rom and are reasonably
intelligent <g>.

this is true. which is why this probably wasn't the best purchase --
however, it was used, cheap and -- less expensive than the alternative i
was considering which was a DOS card for the Mac + another HD dedicated to
Wintel.

and i really don't need a new HD yet -- unless I want to install a working
copy of CF application and a web server etc. so i can develop and test on
one machine. even then, i probably won't need one til next year -- it is
1.2 gig and all i will have on it is CF Studio, CF app server and some
personal web server.

if i get a bigger drive, though, can i partition it and use half for linux???
