Yes, I've seen fonts fail if they are not installed as Jack suggests.  And you
are correct in quessing that there is a limit to the number of fonts.  There is
info in the MS and Corel knowledge bases about it.  Basically, though, there is
a limited area in the Win95 registry for holding font info.  Since it is an
"area" there is no exact limit to the *number* of fonts.  The info that goes in
the area comprises the font's 8.3 name plus the family name, plus the
descriptive name, plus some data.  Since some fonts have real short names and
others very long ones, you cannot guess the number.  The guidance from MS is
"about 500"; others suggest limiting yourself to 300.  In our office we have a
general rule that if you add one permanently that pushes past 300 you must
delete one.  This gives us the ability to add a bunch temporarily for a special
project, but they've gotta be dropped when the project is over.
