I'm not sure of the numbers for undergrads and MS. The Ph.D. problem
shows up in percentages, at least the numbers I have seen. MIS is a new
field, so there is no reliable data for trends - all I know is that we
have a hard time getting female applicants.

The need for people in these fields is growing. Everyone with a Ph.D. in
MIS is getting hired. At my university, 2/3 of the students are women. But
we have no female MIS professors, and may not be able to hire any this
year. It won't be for want of trying.
