Perl itself has no Y2K issues. God alone only knows what Microsoft
introduced into the mix. Particularly, you should check to see if the
version Perl installed on your machine is the ActiveState port. ActiveState
is owned by Microsoft - in the Perl community, their version of Perl for
Win32 is regarded with suspicion and some distrust, particularly because
it has diverged from the main Perl codebase.
