Hi,

Well, it seems to me that if your buddies can afford their own domain names,
they should be able to afford hosting.  CI Host is fairly inexpensive
(http://www.cihost.com).  Not that domain names cost too much, but then again,
most college people I know are on their university's server or xoom.  :-)  I
really don't think $25 a month constitutes bleeding one dry for hosting
anyway.
