your poor friend was regrettably dealing with a twit designer. she promptly
killed a client's web site and thereby sabotaged the business.

just re-do the site and ignore the twit. copyright theory has nothing to do
with copyright reality. she won't sue; a copyright suit is a federal court
matter and it takes $50,000 just to walk into a federal court. no attorney
will take her case without a $50,000 deposit up front.

one of my close friends called me Sunday night; she found out that her ISP
was being sold. The new ISP was not going to continue the current web sites.
her business site would evaporate within 24 hours. i fetched all of her
files and moved it to another server. sure enough, by Monday afternoon, the
ISP's new buyers had wiped all of the accounts. they also refused to create
pointers to the new sites.

this is maybe the result of our extreme capitalism: if there's unlimited
competitors, then one can get away with anything. such web designers or ISPs
can pull such stunts, but they never last long.
