Hey gang,
Just checking into the provisions of the new copyright law that require
ISPs to register an agent with the US government to avoid liability for
copyright violation claims. However, nowhere in any of the discussion
have I found any type of discussion where "ISP" is defined. At various
times they talk about people who host internet servers, but that's about
it. It does clearly state that sub-organizations that use services
provided by a major provider must register (and pay the stupid $20 fee)
separately (which would suggest to me that host servcies are probably
expected to pay up as well).
Similarly, anyone know exactly what they mean about putting the contact
agent's name in websites? Is this to be interpretted as every single
website we do?
Anyone plowed through this masterpiece in confusion to determine the
obligations of web designers and server hosts?
Brett
