I am holding off till I hear more from others. Got a SuSE 5.3 demo
CD-ROM, (Kernel version 2.0.35) and just installed it on another machine.
No obvious problems yet, (other than a controller incompatibility with one
of my notebook machines,) but I have not stress tested it. (I hate it when
they play version number games!)

In general, I prefer Red Hat, but... their last inadequate QA
incident suggests caution with regard to production systems. My
production system is running fine with what I have, and uptime is more an
issue of my need to swap hard drives and other hardware, than software
issues. (Filled up temp and home, but the system did not crash! Unmounted,
repartitioned and re-mounted two of the hard drives; but I still had to
power it down to physically add a third hard drive. Gets to be a bear when
you have to sort files that are over a quarter gigabyte in size, and you
don't want them on the same physical drive for speed considerations.)

Red Hat 5.0 works great. Turbo Linux 2.0 works great. On some
machines. Some report problems with Dec Tulip ethernet cards using the
current driver set, and this I have confirmed myself. Some say even the
Dec chips are not the same! I also have a machine that has problems with
a Future Domain SCSI chip set on Turbo 2.0. Other than that, the systems
run great.
