Looking through lsl.com at the CD contents, versions, etc.
I saw RedHat offers more applications, upgraded kernal and
other 'goodies'. Being 'green' to this other than playing
with Caldera OpenLinux Lite (in its own box -finally!) and
hearing most about RedHat, I ordered 5.2 tonight. Caldera's
Lite is just that - something to explore the OS without
being able to do anything productive. It's time for 'the
real thing'.

Funny thing about that though, is our new dedicated server
will have Caldera OpenLinux on it because the sysadmin said
it's 'easier for the beginner'. It makes me wonder how I'm
expected to learn anything if he's also making the
interface Netscape Enterpise. I don't need a browser-based
admin. Well, maybe to get going quicker, but bypassing that
will come soon enough.

How much different are Caldera and RedHat? I was hoping to
run the same OS at home as on the server.

Jim
