Part Time, Full Time, Weekend hackers, weekday hackers, 1am junkies
there are all kinds working on Linux projects. Debian project has about
2000 or so actual developers and "who knows how many just outside the
circle" developers.

The same can go for Microsoft. Linux is a fully functing creation and is
always evolving into something better.
