You mean in contrast to all other software projects in the
world, which are always on time no matter how ignorantly
optimistic the marketing people were in setting the schedule?

I once saw a summary of scheduled vs. actual delivery times of
major Boeing s/w projects, done I think by an old acquaintance
of mine there named Maretta Holden.  Guess what it said.

I'm curious about just what a "state of the art OS" would be.
In my opinion, the state of the art in OS design is frozen in
the mid-80's or earlier, when we stopped developing operating
systems and began just piling layer after layer of trash on top
of the ones we had.  Observe that some people think that
MS's Bob is an OS.
