Send some of that work my way, I am getting a little hungry...
Actually, _IF_ you do the job right, build up longer term contacts,
maintain a higher profile via papers, etc., you can get away without the
phone work. (Though that is the way job shops work.)
My problem, is that coming from an immigrant family, having been
taught to believe my head would likely be chopped off the minute the sov
iet s got enough agents here in America, and having nearly been killed by
a psychopath of an ex-wife several times, I have been conditioned to keep
a low, somewhat masked, profile. (Does not help we found out later she
was an ex-sov army officer, either! That gem came out in her immigration
hearings. All MD's are mil officers over there.)
Life does, at times, get a bit interesting... Oh, how can screw our
lives up with a few simple decisions! But it was utterly fascinating to
see how DIFFERENT the perceptions and thought processes of a different
culture can be! (Or how quickly it was changed from that of my parents.)
That in itself was... maybe... worth it!
Anyway, I have been hitting the phones for a while, looking for
projects. Any overflow anyone has would be appreciated, Although I am a
systems analyst / software engineer at heart, I like to do CGI-BIN's and
low-graphics, high automation sites. Resume available when we start
talking about specifics.
