<snicker> I'm a little behind on my reading and almost missed this. Yes, my
sig does have "Silicon Valley, California" as an address. Firstly, because
nobody outside our geographic area knows where Mountain View CA is -- many
people seem to think it's near LA for some reason. So my partner had the
bright idea of putting "Silicon Valley" in our sigs, because everyone has
at least heard of the Silicon Valley, even if they've never heard of
Mountain View.
Secondly, because clients always say "Oh, you're right in the Silicon
Valley" when we describe our location in detail to them. So, since that's
what clients think in terms of location, we thought it might end up being a
good sales technique to include it in our sigs. Don't know that it's done
much for business, but what the heck.
Jack, you're the first person to comment -- maybe even the first person to
notice! Huh, doesn't say much for my sig being memorable does it? Oh, well,
at least it isn't 10 lines long.
